Trinity Tree Farm Mini Sessions // Issaquah Photographer
Let's talk about Trinity Tree Farm for a second, because if you've been to a session with me out there, you already know - this place is an absolute blast to photograph. Tucked up on a hilltop in Issaquah with views out toward Mount Rainier on a clear day, it's easily my favorite spot for tree farm minis, and honestly, one of my favorite places to just hang out for an afternoon in general.
Here's what makes sessions at Trinity so much fun.
There's SO much to explore. With 40 acres of Douglas, Grand, Noble, and Fraser firs to wander through, we are never short on gorgeous rows of trees to shoot in. We can find a quiet little pocket tucked between the trees, or head somewhere with a little more open space if you've got littles who need room to run. I genuinely never get tired of walking those rows looking for the next perfect spot.
That antique fire engine is a photo op all on its own. Trinity has this incredible 1955 fire engine parked on the property, and kids go absolutely nuts for it. We've done everything from full family photos in front of it to letting the kids climb up and pretend to drive - and every single time, it turns into some of the most fun, candid shots of the whole session.
The log cabin and gift shop give us the coziest backdrop. Built right there on the farm, the log cabin has this warm, rustic charm that photographs beautifully. It's the kind of spot that makes a photo feel like it belongs on a holiday card without us having to do much of anything.
We always end up by the fire pits. There's something about gathering near one of Trinity's fire pits with a cup of their hot cocoa or homemade apple cider that makes everyone relax and warm up (literally and figuratively). Some of my favorite in-between moments happen right there - kids sneaking sips of cocoa, parents laughing about something silly, everyone just existing together without posing for anything.
It's playful, not stiff. I know I say this about a lot of my sessions, but it's especially true here - Trinity Tree Farm just isn't a "stand here and smile" kind of place. Kids want to run down the rows of trees, climb the fire engine, ride the little train if it's out. I let them. That's where the good stuff happens.
And it smells like Christmas the whole time. I mean, come on. Forty acres of fresh pine trees? It's basically impossible not to feel festive out there, and that energy always ends up showing in the photos - everyone's just a little more smiley, a little more relaxed, fully in the holiday spirit before the season even officially starts.
Trinity Tree Farm has become one of my go-to spots for a reason, and every session out there ends up being just as fun as the last. If you've been wanting some cozy, playful, holiday-ready family photos, I'd love to spend an afternoon out there with your crew this year.
