Ah, documentary family photography - the art of capturing life as it happens, without any posing or artificiality. It's like a time machine that takes you back to those moments that you thought you forgot.
It's all about capturing the magic in the mundane - the small moments that make up our lives. Like when your kid jumps on the bed to wake you up in the morning, or when you're cooking Sunday pancakes together in the kitchen. These are the moments that tell the story of your family and your life together.
With documentary family photography, you don't have to worry about posing or staging anything. It's all about being yourself and letting your family's unique personalities shine through. Whether you're goofy and silly or quiet and contemplative, I'll be there to capture it all.

I am deeply in love with art. I studied design and art history in college and it is my goal to tie in my deep love and years of experience in the art and design world into the composition of my photos. From light to color, repetition, focal point to sense of place, and design theory.

how do you do it?
I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
one of my absolute favorite ways to capture those candid, fun-filled family moments is by planning an activity for your photo session.
It's like magic!
All of my sessions are centered around an activity that your family loves to do together. I've found that having something to focus on not only helps everyone feel more relaxed and natural in front of the camera, but it also creates a beautiful storyline for your photos.
For my mini sessions, we'll do something seasonal and festive, like picking blueberries, playing at the beach, or finding the perfect Christmas tree. And for my longer sessions, we'll plan an activity together - whether that's hanging out at your home and doing your favorite things, or heading out to your favorite coffee shop or park. The possibilities are endless!
By incorporating an activity into your session, we'll create images that truly capture your family's unique personality and the joy you share together. So let's plan something amazing and get those cameras clicking!
