Golden Gardens is a beautiful public park located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. With its sandy beach, towering trees, and stunning views of the Puget Sound, it's a popular spot for taking photos year-round.

As a photographer, I have had the pleasure of shooting at Golden Gardens on many occasions, and I can confidently say that it's one of my favorite locations in the city. Whether you're looking for a beachy, laid-back vibe or a more formal, elegant setting, Golden Gardens has something to offer.

Whether you are collecting rocks on the beach, skipping stones, or simply lounging on a beach blanket soaking in the love and fresh saltwater air, a documentary photographer will be there to freeze all the fun and capture the memories that make your family truly unique. Let's talk about Golden Gardens for a sec, because if you've followed me for any amount of time, you already know this place has my whole heart.

Every fall (and honestly, all year round) I find myself pulling into that parking lot again and again, and I never get tired of it. There's just something about that stretch of Seattle shoreline that makes every single session feel a little magical.

Golden Gardens faces west, which means it's practically made for sunset sessions. As the sun drops toward the Olympics across the Sound, the light turns soft, warm, and a little hazy in the best possible way. It bounces off the water and wraps around everyone in the frame. I've photographed a lot of sunsets over the years, and there's just something about the way the light behaves here — it's forgiving, flattering, and endlessly photogenic.
