Newborns born during the holidays have their own brand of magic. Life slows down and you just get to soak in that special time of year with those you love most. The extra time off work and twinkle lights don’t hurt either.

I really love photographing newborns during the Christmas and holiday season. It just feels so warm and cozy. I think it might be because I have my own memories of settling in during the holidays and loving on my new baby. My daughter was born in the beginning of December. I was halfway through decorating the Christmas tree when I went into my checkup and came home with a baby. I'm pretty sure, that year, we never finished decorating the tree. We put everything else on hold and just soaked in the first month of our baby's life. Every Christmas baby brings me back to that sereneness. During a crazy time of year when we hustle our faces off and just do do do, these newbie babes remind me of what really matters. And it feels pretty dang good.
