Love, Pride, and Blueberry Fields

Every year, my Blueberry Farm Mini Sessions remind me why I love what I do. There’s something about the open sky, berry-stained hands, and barefoot kids (or grown-ups!) that invites people to relax, breathe deep, and show up exactly as they are. It’s the kind of setting where the best stories unfold—quietly, honestly, without having to force a thing.

And this year, one of those stories belonged to a couple I won’t forget anytime soon.

Two people, deeply in love, making their way down the rows—hand in hand, laughing, unapologetically themselves. There was something so gentle and radiant about the way they moved together, like they had nothing to prove and everything to celebrate.

Photographing LGBTQ+ couples and families is always a privilege, and it’s not one I take lightly. I know that showing up in front of a camera as your full self can take courage—especially in spaces that haven’t always been welcoming. My hope, always, is to offer something different: a space where love is love, where your story is seen and honored, and where you don’t have to tone anything down.

These blueberry sessions? They’re not just about the berries. They’re about connection. Joy. Being messy, present, playful, and real. They’re about families—however you define yours—gathering in the thick of summer and making memories that matter.

So to the couple who trusted me with their story: thank you. Your love is beautiful, and it was an honor to document it.

And to anyone wondering if there’s space here for you—yes. There is. There always will be.

Happy Pride, this month and every month.
