Lately, I have been looking through my old work and learning from myself.

I love to explore the photography that I have already done, analyzing what I would do differently or just enjoying seeing how much I’ve grown in my art.

Sometimes, however I realize that I love my photos even more when I revisit them. This session is one of those times.

I love the shadows and contrast on this super sunny day at the beach. I love how the black and white edit, paired with this baby’s bonnet make the images so timeless. I love the connection and love I can see from mom and dad toward their baby even though I can’t even see their faces. I love the sand mixed with food on baby’s sweet face.

I keep coming back to this day, back to these photos and enjoying them. Proud of the work I created, proud of who I was when I made them and who I am now that I’ve grown as an artist.

I can just imagine how it feels for a family to keep coming back to the same images, thinking about this day too. But instead of thinking about my photos, they are thinking about their girl. How much they love the person she is in these photos and how much they love who she is today. How proud they are of her strength, kindness, and sense of adventure. How thankful they are that they not only get to know this human but be her parents.

That’s when I know I’ve done my job as your family photographer. When you are able to look beyond the photo itself and FEEL IT. Feel the memory, feel the love and togetherness. When the love is palpable from the photo. That’s it.

Bluberry farm mini sessions are a SOLID FAV.

Let’s start with the location. Rusty Plow Farm in Enumclaw, WA is a dream, my friends. It is a family owned gorgeous blueberry farm with expansive views and the most delicious blueberries you ever did pick. Sue and Dave are the most delightful people and they will make sure you have THE BEST time on your visit. They don’t even mind if you sample a few blueberries while you’re picking.

Among the seasonal mini sessions I offer, most are outside and many involve flowers. It’s always so fun to see kids get fully submerged in the nature around them, almost becoming one. Here are some photos of sisters doing just that.

Photographing families is a pretty sweet gig. One of the things I enjoy the most is observing the connection between siblings.
