give yourself a time out

Hieeee friends!!

Just a quick check in to see how you all are feeling during this time of isolation.

My headspace has gone from suuuuper motivated to get things done, to just wanting to hang with my kid and do nothing. To wanting to hang ALONE and also do nothing.

I’m sitting with that. Allowing myself to feel it.

To learn from it.

I’m trying to give myself the space to feel my feelings, to be motivated when I am, to embrace it and ride the wave. And then take the time for myself when I need it. As moms/parents our focus is solely on our children the majority of the time. And now they are ALWAYS THERE!! It is ok to schedule alone time. I would argue that it’s even necessary.

I’m getting so desperate for alone time that I’m actually enjoying weeding and washing dishes.

So give yourself a time out. Embrace it. Revel in it.

I just felt the need to send out a reminder that IT IS OK to look out for number one here and there right now. Because if you’re anything like me, you need to hear that.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite self care activities:

  1. NAPS

  2. wine

  3. bath with candles lit

  4. phone chat with a friend

  5. sitting outside, in the quiet, with just my thoughts

Add to my list with your favorites, in the comments!
