why cold windy beach days are pretty magical // black and white
I’ve known this mama since before we both had kids — husbands even!
When I told her it could be cold and rainy, she rejoiced. Her idea of the perfect fall day is bundled up and cozy, her happy place.
So, while some people are worried about the rain and cold at their sessions, take it from Jackie. It’s an opportunity to get cozy and layer up, snuggling with the people you love most!
Love your photographer,
Anna
Let's talk about Golden Gardens for a sec, because if you've followed me for any amount of time, you already know this place has my whole heart.
Every fall (and honestly, all year round) I find myself pulling into that parking lot again and again, and I never get tired of it. There's just something about that stretch of Seattle shoreline that makes every single session feel a little magical.
Golden Gardens faces west, which means it's practically made for sunset sessions. As the sun drops toward the Olympics across the Sound, the light turns soft, warm, and a little hazy in the best possible way. It bounces off the water and wraps around everyone in the frame. I've photographed a lot of sunsets over the years, and there's just something about the way the light behaves here — it's forgiving, flattering, and endlessly photogenic.
Sounds pretty magic, right? Well, it is. For so many reasons.
I am all about REAL family photos. Documenting your family, living your best life TOGETHER.
The nursery is BEAUTIFUL - from the lights to the greenery, there are so many lovely spots to take wonderful family photos.
There are so many things to do! Grab a warm beverage, check out the Christmas train, pick out your wreath or tree, and best of all, hang with your favorite people on the planet.
Holiday mini sessions at the Tree Farm are so fun. I loooove hanging out with families and taking real-life, meaningful photos of their time together.
It’s a great place for you to visit with your family, let in all the beauty of the nature surrounding you and JUST RELAX for your family pictures!!
Every time I photograph your family, I will look for details that help tell the story of your day. This helps tell a cohesive story of your time together as a family. Details are a great way to show those fleeting moments of childhood in, well, more detail.
From the smashed strawberry in your baby’s hands to the mud between your big kid’s toes, I want to document it all, so that you can relive those precious memories over and over for a lifetime.
Every time I photograph your family, I will take portraits of your family. This helps tell a cohesive story of your time together as a family. Portraits are a great way to show the details of your children’s faces and show their personalities through their expressions.
Bluberry farm mini sessions are a SOLID FAV.
Both for my clients and for me.
Let’s start with the location. Rusty Plow Farm in Enumclaw, WA is a dream, my friends. It is a family owned gorgeous blueberry farm with expansive views and the most delicious blueberries you ever did pick. Sue and Dave are the most delightful people and they will make sure you have THE BEST time on your visit. They don’t even mind if you sample a few blueberries while you’re picking.
Golden Gardens is more than just a beach—it's a picturesque paradise nestled along the shores of Puget Sound. With its sandy beaches, lush greenery, and stunning views, Golden Gardens provides the perfect backdrop for capturing cherished memories with your loved ones.
Let's talk about Trinity Tree Farm for a second, because if you've been to a session with me out there, you already know - this place is an absolute blast to photograph. Tucked up on a hilltop in Issaquah with views out toward Mount Rainier on a clear day, it's easily my favorite spot for tree farm minis, and honestly, one of my favorite places to just hang out for an afternoon in general.
Here's what makes sessions at Trinity so much fun.
