what is a line?
I mean, you know what a line is.
But let’s start with that.
You could probably just look around the room, from right where you’re sitting and see at least 10 lines.
lines are everywhere!!
They are on your screen and your paper. They are in the corners of the wall in your house. You draw lines on a paper when you create your art or when you write words in response to your homework assignments.
Here are some examples of line. Take a look at these photos and ask yourself where you see lines. Take out your photography notebook and write down your answers and thoughts.
Lines, lines, lines!!
Now the word just sounds funny, right?! But are you starting to see them everywhere??
Lines can be a literal line, like the string on a balloon or the lines on your paper. They can also be the outline of an object. They can be suggested (just like the suggested shapes we talked about in the shape lesson).
They can be straight, curved, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, dotted, short, long, thick or thin!
