let’s take some pictures

During the day, while you have plenty of natural light, take a walk with your family or go in your backyard to find some things you’d like to photograph in nature.

Locate a subject.

Study the light on the object you want to photograph.

Is it in the light?

What is the light doing?

Do you see shadows?

If it’s cloudy or rainy, it might be more challenging to determine the quality of the light. Take your camera out and start photographing your subject. If you move it to a different spot, how does the light on the subject change?

While you are taking these pictures and studying the light, take a moment to reflect on the fact that you are creating with light!!
