5 reasons to include your pets in family photos copy

I am on a mission to document your everyday moments.

Those giggly, warm happy moments. The funny, unexpected, goofy ones. The connection that you have only with those closest to you.

This includes your pets.

Pets are MAGIC in family photos. Let me tell you why.

  1. You already know this one, but I’ll spell it out for you anyway.

    Your pet is beyond cute!

They always add to the aesthetic of the photos.

  2. Your dog is part of your family and your everyday life.

You hang with them all the time — they should be in your photos!

  3. Family pets shake it up.

This might be my favorite benefit from having a family pet in your photos. They make candid photos a breeze! No stiff family photos when you have a pupper around!

  4. Your family pet will take your mind off the camera.

Feeling uncomfortable for family photos is a huge bummer. Being hyper-aware of the camera, always feeling the need to BE ON, and perma-smile glued on your face is not ideal for lifestyle photography. We want you feeling good, being yourself, and totally relaxed! When your dog enters the picture, they take your mind off the camera and onto each other. Which is exactly where your mind should be.

  5. Pets provide an activity

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it time and time again. Providing an activity is KEY for getting candid family pictures in a short time frame (my mini sessions). All my seasonal mini sessions are built around family activities. From playing in the sprinkler to picking blueberries at the farm, when there is something to do together, it’s like a family date. You’re having fun together, building memories and I’m just there to document it. Bringing your family pet along is like creating an activity. You walk them, snuggle them, play fetch, etc. It’s really special.

Love your photographer,
