As many of you already know, one of my favorite things in life is to work with small businesses, supporting family owned and local. One reason, I am also a small business, so I see the importance of this first hand. Secondly, I love the camaraderie and love that flows around when we all do our part to support one another. It is a beautiful thing to behold!

One of my favorite ongoing projects is a photo project with my daughter, where we support Seattle woman owned businesses by photographing them and telling their story through my eight year old daughter’s interviews.

I have been working with small shops since my daughter was a toddler. We worked with a number of family owned businesses including, but not limited to, the following: Whistle & Flute — a trendy clothing shop for kids and RBTL Paper Company — rad prints and paper goods. We’ve had so much fun working with these wonderful people and have had some great experiences, including being featured in Vogue TWICE!

I’ve made some dear friends in this rad entrepreneurial community, one of my favorites being Candice. We’ve kept in touch from two states away for over six years. She is a social media manager, bad ass mom and business owner. When she gave me the opportunity to photograph My Smile, I couldn’t resist. Happy to work with a friend and utilize my time at home during quarantine, plus jump into some self care and brighten my teeth while I’m at it! What more could I ask for?!
