mini session stories // sisters pick lavender

Sisters pick lavender.

July 2017

Mini session stories.

This is how I photograph your family at my seasonal mini sessions. I look for small stories while I’m hanging out with you and your favorites. By illustrating a story through my photos, your prints, albums, and memories from the day will have a more cohesive aesthetic. This is a beautiful way to get more candid, real-life photos of your family, documenting what your life looks like RIGHT NOW in all its glory!

When I photograph a story, I focus on the details, the connections, and the portraits.

Details.

Tiny hands holding giant scissors, carefully cutting lavender stalks for a bouquet.

Moments.

Your kids making a bouquet together, fighting over the scissors, living life together and working through things, as they do.

Portraits.

Sunkissed curls framing your child’s face while she gazes directly into my soul I mean camera.

Creating a variety of images is like adjectives in a sentence. They narrate a day in your life and fill inform the viewer with details and context. They set the scene both aesthetically and functionally so that you feel like you are there again and again and again.

I would love to “write” the story of your family at the lavender farm this summer! Lavender Valley Farm is beautiful and owned by the warmest, most friendly people. And it is such a gorgeous, fragrant scene for your family pictures.

I can’t wait to see you this summer and photograph your sweet fam!

Love your photographer,

Anna
